Atropine Sulfate Injection 1%

Atropine Sulfate Injection is used as a parasympatholytic for cattle, horses, sheep , goats, pigs. Additionally it is used as a partial antidote for organophosphorus poisoning.

COMPOSITION:
Each ml contains:
Atropine Sulfate......................................10 mg
Water for Injection (add to)........................1 ml

INDICATIONS:
Atropine Sulfate Injection is used as a parasympatholytic for cattle, horses, sheep , goats, pigs. Additionally it is used as a partial antidote for organophosphorus poisoning.

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
As parasympatholytic:
By subcutaneous injection:
Cattle, Horses: 0.03 to 0.06 mg/kg bodyweight. 
Sheep, Goats: 0.03 to 0.16 mg/ kg bodyweight.
Pigs: 0.02 to 0.04 mg/kg bodyweight.
As antidote for organophosphorus poisoning:
In the case of organophosphorus poisoning the dose can be doubled up to 0.5 mg/kg bodyweight of which one quarter is administered intravenously, the rest subcutaneously. This dose can be repeated 3 to 4 times with an interval of 4 to 6 hours until clinical signs of poisoning are relieved.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Should not be used in animals with a known hypersensitivity (allergy) to atropine.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Side effects include dry mouth (Xerostomia), dysphagia, constipation and thirst.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat: 28 days
Milk: 7 days

STORAGE:
Store below 30°C. Protect from light.
